why so torn in the middle

let it pour over you, cleanse the dirt

of all those in the past, who took your very last

to be closed in & cut off

to be hurt when you take a load off

who were they to handle you that way

i’ll take my time taking your pain away

i’d start over day after day, whatever you’ll take

i’m going to speak from my heart

you’ve had me since the start

i wanna be your light in the dark

cause it’s gonna get cold

cause it’s gonna get ugly

i promise to make home comfy

confide when you come inside

spit out what they wanted you to become, open wide

don’t look for the exit, i’m here at your side

& when the road gets tough, allow me to drive

get to your happy place as i’m your favorite high

it’s just a matter of time after you look into my eyes

you’ll see where your heart lies
