"I am a freelance makeup artist based in Clarksville, TN that specializes in natural & soft glams & I make it my duty to remind women to "Slay the Day." To slay the day, one must be kind, be productive, look & feel good about themselves. I began my journey two years ago & have been flourishing ever since. I enjoy creating a new level of confidence for every woman that sits in my chair."



1. What makeup look would you give yourself for the Met Gala & the theme is Paris?


"If I was preparing for the Met Gala & the theme is Paris, I would give myself a soft pink, airy, & glowing look. "



2. What advice would you give a fellow makeup artist creating looks for a wedding party?


"The advice I would give a fellow makeup artist creating looks for a wedding party would be to make sure the bride's makeup stands out from the rest of the bridal party - she needs that extra sparkle. Try to avoid using dark colors & if you decide to use them, keep it minimal."



3. What fascinates you about this industry? What would you change about it, if anything?


"I am most fascinated with the science behind makeup application - it's more than enhancing someone's beauty. You have to understand what to do with different face shapes & skin types, color theory, & have to improv when necessary. I wouldn't change anything about the industry - I look at as different levels & everyone has to start somewhere. The more consistent you are, the more you level up."4


4. How do you stay ahead of the latest beauty trends?


"I don't stay ahead of the latest beauty trends, I am pretty traditional & that by itself keeps me within my niche. I cater to women who like to keep it simple & cute."


5. What is your favorite celebrity makeup look & why?


"My current favorite celebrity look is the master piece Merrell Hollis recently did on Mary J. Blige using Danessa Myricks Infinite Chrome Flakes - "Kiss Me." The way the chrome eyeshadow compliments her signature smoky eye look is phenomenal!"
