Thief In The Night: Fear

“I’ve missed so many opportunities because of fear. I’ve scratched so many ideas because of fear.”

How many of us have been through trials and tribulations? This looks different for everyone & yet it always feel the same. We all have that fear that it won’t work out, the opportunity is too good to be true, that it’s not going to happen because it never happens for “someone like you.” You’re a liar! That’s fear talking and we don’t speak that language. I’ve missed so many opportunities because of fear. I’ve scratched so many ideas because of fear. I’m still contained in one way or another by fear but I’ve also got God on my side. No matter how bad it feels or looks, don’t forget that God is with you. When family won’t answer the phone, share the good news, come support and friends quietly envy you and smile in your face, GOD IS WITH YOU! It seems scary and even pointless sometimes to got at things alone but walk in faith! The flames of jealousy, envy, hatred, bitterness, and anger will NOT burn you! I feel like as women we feel like we’ve got to work twice as hard to prove we don’t need anyone else. Even God needed help! He couldn’t reach all those lost souls by himself. No one is expecting you to have all the answers, know the ending, or make it to the end without a bump in the road except YOU! Take those chances, make your own opportunities, & fall into faith at every given chance! God’s got you I promise!

What makes you do the things you do? If you were uncertain of the outcome, what the emotion that comes to mind? FEAR! You’ve tried all these different things, listened to 17 people and their stories, & even thought about how to solve your problems in a unique way. God created you in his image. Down to that one thing you don’t like. It’s so easy for us all to say we want more, we need more, or we’re not going to make it without more, but God doesn’t want you to worry, He wants you to be content. He wants you to know that even though times are uncertain, bills haven’t been paid, & everything keeps stacking up against you, that He’s not leaving you. When it comes to money, there’s an endless desire for more and more and more. Most of us feel like it would solve all our problems, I do. What we fail to realize is, problems never go away, they just become less or more bearable. Don’t let money be the reason you work that job but come home miserable. Don’t let money be the reason you quit on your dreams. Don’t let fear be the reason you never acknowledge the dreams you’ve had since 12. Don’t let fear rob you of God given faith & God’s dedication to seeing you through. There have been so many days where I felt stranded. I didn’t feel God’s presence. I felt like it was me against everything that was tearing me down. I didn’t realize the power of prayer & passing off my tribulations to God because he never asked me to bear them alone in the first place. God will never put more on you than you can bare! Sometimes you lack because God is going to provide for you in a way you didn’t see coming. You expected A and God says B is better.

Do you believe that God is listening? Do you think he heard you? Do you honestly believe that he’s always working in your favor? I’ve cried so many nights for so many different things and God never saved me as soon as I expected him to. I think as humans we want God to save us before trouble even comes. There’s a lesson in trouble. Just think about it? How did you get here? What events took place? Who was involved? What was that feeling like? Yes, God is more than ready to save you but that doesn’t mean that God is teaching you in the midst of the mess. God is always listening! Even in the prayers you pray. You don’t always have to have the words or thoughts to express what you’re going through because God understands. If all you can do is cry, that’s enough. God is all knowing and he’s more than capable to change your environment and work miracles in your life!
